Mit der Veröffentlichung von „Deep In My Soul“ im Jahr 2019 hatte Daddy Wilson das Gefühl, dass sich für seine Musik und seine Karriere ein stilvoller Kreis geschlossen hatte. „Ich sehe es als eine Reise“, sagte er über seine unglaubliche Hintergrundgeschichte. Es ist die Reise eines Mannes, der tief in dieser wunderschönen Musik namens Blues versunken war und nach 25 Jahren endlich wieder nach Hause zurückkehrte…
Doch der Weg war damit noch nicht zu Ende, denn Wilsons neues Album geht noch einen Schritt weiter: „Smiling All Day Long“ präsentiert sein Talent als Produzent und Songwriter in einer vielseitigeren Songauswahl als je zuvor. Der dreimalige Grammy-Nominierte Eric Bibb und die preisgekrönte Blues-Ikone Hans Theessink sind ebenfalls auf dem Album zu hören. Wilson sagt über den Weg, den er mit „Smiling All Day Long“ zurückgelegt hat: „Die Entstehung dieses Albums war eine unglaubliche Reise, die ohne das Talent, die Leidenschaft und den Geist der außergewöhnlichen Musiker, die mich auf diesem Weg begleitet haben, einfach nicht möglich gewesen wäre.“
