The guitarist Joscho Stephan has been touring national and international stages as a gypsy swing musician for over 20 years. In a trio with Volker Kamp on double bass and Sven Jungbeck on rhythm guitar, he feels committed to the musical legacy of the Hot Club de France, the legendary formation that Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli brought to life in Paris in the 1930s. So it was almost obvious to make a recording under the same conditions that Django Reinhardt and all well-known swing and jazz musicians had until the late 1940s - direct-to-disc. In addition to their own pieces, the album also includes classics that belong to the standard repertoire of gypsy swing, thus covering Paris as the musical metropolis of the swing era. Other titles pay homage to Berlin. At the end follows 'Wes Berlin' by Joscho Stephan, this little bow to Wes Montgomery marks the end of the journey from Paris to Berlin.
