The oil painting by artist Irina Wolff couldn't be a better cover for the album, as the blend of late Romantic painting and modern art is also reflected in the music: influences from jazz, elements of late Romantic orchestral literature, rhythms from Cuba and the Orient, and sounds from modern film scores. This combination makes Movie Sinfonica a kind of "world music suite in 3D," an effect further enhanced by the Dolby Atmos audio format. It evokes the film music genre, one that, like no other, stands for sonic openness and is stylistically the broadest. The 11 compositions are based on the personal experiences and events of the composers Julia Diederich, Christoph König, Heiko Gottberg, and Matthias Anton, and were brought to life with great dedication by 40 musicians of the GermanPops Orchestra, 5 percussionists, 9 big band wind players, electric guitar, electric and acoustic bass, piano, drums, 3 sound engineers, 9 singers from the Stuttgart State Opera Chorus, and 15 singers from the SWR Vocal Ensemble Stuttgart. It is music that not only evokes experiences and can conjure up inner narratives, but also takes both classical and jazz audiences on a long and intense journey.
