The Referenz high-end bi-wire bridge, based on the LS-1002 and the Referenz spade lug KS-60. Concentric copper is used in the conductor structure, where each wire has a precisely defined position within the conductor. This structure ensures even signal transmission for crystal-clear audio reproduction. Under normal conditions, the copper used as conductor material is considered to be one of the next-best electrical conductors after silver. Compared to cheap CCA (Copper Coated Aluminum), copper has a significantly better conductivity and is also mechanically more resilient.

Because the speaker cable carries the largest current in the entire device chain, a suitable conductor cross-section is required to transport it with as little loss as possible. This current generates correspondingly strong magnetic fields and, since it is alternating current, there is a frequency-dependent resistance in the inductance of the cable.
Low inductance is therefore particularly important for speaker cables - and this is precisely what has been achieved with the LS-1205 Air: The cable's inductance value has been reduced by a particularly ingenious arrangement of the conductors, the 4-fold "multicore" structure, enabling it to behave in a completely sound-neutral way over a wide frequency range. In addition, the magnetic fields generated around the individual conductors overlap and neutralize each other. This means that all frequencies are transported unhindered and without any time delay, enabling a fabulously open and detailed musical presentation. At the end of the air helix, the LS-1205 Air’s four conductors are separated into so-called aluminum splitters for the receiving connector.
In the area between the splitters and plug, in-akustik uses highly flexible molded parts made of a special elastomer. These parts are fixed inside the splitter using a specifically designed plastic plug. This means that the cable remains reliably flexible in the connection area as well. High-end loudspeakers need power – and a lot of it, quickly and precisely. For the perfect sound the power must correspond one hundred percent with the analog image of the original sound source, be it an A cappella soloist or a stomping rock concert. A few technical tricks that help to skillfully circumvent physical influences are required to deliver this power to the loudspeaker right on time and holistically. Line resistance and line inductance play an important role with speaker cables.
The powerful Referenz LS-8005 AIR has impressive 32 Cross Link Super Speed waveguides with an enormous total cross-section of 38 mm². The cross-section alone, however, does not make a good cable. The smart nesting of the conductors almost completely eliminates magnetic fields, paving the way for the finest sound facets and powerful pressure in equal measure.
Good sound needs air! In developing our Air technology, we have proven that an audio cable’s insulation plays a key role and has a significant influence on the sound. This is due to dielectric losses and the electrostatic properties of the insulating materials, which burden the hi-fi system like heavy luggage and make it sluggish. By “omitting” this strain we then help the entire hi-fi chain to achieve top performance. We do this with special clips that guide the signal conductors through the cable in a row and freely suspended.
Grounding option: The number of cell phones, WiFi routers, Bluetooth devices, PV systems and charging stations etc., is constantly increasing. This also increases the potential for electromagnetic interferences, which can affect hi-fi and high-end systems. Cables act like antennae and can transfer the interferences to the devices, where they overlay the audio signal in sensitive circuit areas, resulting in a “washed out” sound. Effective shielding and grounding concepts are crucial to protect the sound. The grounding cable of a record player is a very well-known example of this. The LS-
