Product information "HDMI (e)ARC Audio Extractor"

Outstanding picture quality deserves powerful HiFi sound. Modern TVs impress with razor-sharp, detail-rich images. But when it comes to sonic depth, dynamics, and expression, built-in speakers remain limited by design.

Big pictures deserve big sound: The HDMI (e)ARC Audio Extractor turns your TV into a full-fledged HiFi source within your stereo system, unlocking every sonic nuance that only your HiFi components can truly deliver.

It taps the audio signal directly from your TV's HDMI ARC/eARC port and converts it into a digital audio signal - available via either:

  • Toslink (optical)
  • RCA coaxial

Both outputs deliver sound simultaneously, so you can leave an AV receiver and a soundbar permanently connected and switch between them as needed – no cable swapping required.

With the HDMI audio converter, you can effortlessly integrate your TV into:

  • powerful AV receivers
  • modern soundbars with a digital input
  • surround sound setups (5.1)
  • powerful active speakers with a Toslink/coaxial input

The result?

  • More transparency in dialogue
  • More structure and control in the bass
  • More spaciousness through true 5.1 surround
  • More dynamics in live concert recordings and films

Film scores gain depth, live recordings unfold greater spaciousness, and dialogue stands out with precision at the center. Your TV delivers the picture. Your HiFi system takes care of the sonic performance.

Important compatibility note:

The HDMI (e)ARC Audio Extractor supports LPCM 2.0 as well as Dolby® 5.1 and DTS® 5.1 as a digital bitstream signal. It is not a decoder itself – decoding is handled by your connected AV receiver or soundbar. Make sure the TV's digital audio output is set in the menu to the desired format (PCM, Dolby Digital, or bitstream). This setting is usually found under "Sound" and then "Digital Audio Output" in the respective TV software.

Important note on volume control

The TV remote control does not adjust the volume of the connected receiver or speakers. Volume must be adjusted directly on the AV receiver, soundbar, or active speakers.

in-akustik Star Optical Cable Toslink black in-akustik Star Optical Cable Product Image Packaging
Digital Opto
Universal digital cable Quality: Star Plastic fiber
Length: 0.75 m

The optical digital cable with standardized TOSLINK connectors for connecting up digital audio sources such as CD, DVD, Blu-ray players or games consoles to AV receivers etc. An outstanding advantage is the virtually interference-free transmission. Optical cables are resistant to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) because they use light instead of electrical current. This enables reliable and virtually interference-free signal transmission, even in environments containing many electronic devices. Application: TOSLINK is used in a variety of devices, including home theater systems, televisions, DVD players, game consoles and audio devices. It is a widely used standard for digital audio transmission.

Audio-Digital & Video Cable
Universal coaxial cable Quality: Star Double shielding
Length: 0.75 m

The Star digital audio/video cable features a highly flexible design with dense spiral shielding and gold-plated connectors. It is designed for connecting streaming devices, CD or Blu-ray players to an AV receiver or an audio DAC (digital-to-analog converter). It is also suitable for transmitting analog video signals. A crucial factor for cables that transmit high-frequency digital information is the wave impedance. This value depends on the geometry of the cable and the dielectric constant of the dielectric used. Precise adjustment of the wave impedance to the respective application is essential in order to avoid reflections in the cable. This is the only way that digital information can be transmitted quickly and error-free, enabling authentic reproduction. Because surfaces always appear rough under the microscope, the gold plating of the connectors plays a decisive role. This roughness means that the effective contact area is reduced to the touching "peaks" of the surfaces. A very soft material, gold evens out these tiny irregularities, increases the contact surface and reduces undesirable transition resistance. In addition, the precious metal gives the contact surfaces long-term protection from corrosion. The cable adheres to the conventional coaxial design in which the "hot" signal conductor is located in the center and is protected by an enveloping shield that also serves as return conductor for the signal. This tried-and-tested design is suitable for a wide range of applications, and ensures that your audio and video transmissions are of the best-possible quality.

Digital > analog audio converter
Universal audio converter Quality: Star Plug & Play

The Star Audio DAC converts digital audio data into analog signals. Its range of applications is very versatile thanks to the optical (TOSLINK) and coaxial (RCA) inputs. The converter can be used, for example, to play the weak sound of a new flat-screen TV via an older but better sounding hi-fi system. The stereo output provides the usual line level and can be connected to the amplifier's AUX or TV input, for example. Power supply unit included. Power supply optionally via plug-in PSU or USB.
