The pianist and composer Florian Hoefner has a worldwide presence in the jazz scene. The German living in St. John's (capital of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador) has a professorship at the Memorial University there.
The Irish and British culture and harsh climate of his adopted home open the jazz pianist inspiring sources of inspiration and discovered thereby a new appreciation for traditional music.
