Als diese Aufnahmen 1958/59 entstanden, war Chet Baker – der 1952 mit dem Aufnehmen begann – noch nicht einmal ein Jahrzehnt ein Star. Dieses Album erschien ursprünglich 1958 unter dem Titel CHET: The Lyrical Trumpet of Chet Baker und ist rein instrumental. Außerdem sind Herbie Mann, Pepper Adams und Kenny Burrell zu hören.
