Since 1967, the group’s blend of swing, rock and roll, jump blues, boogie-woogie and soul has earned it five Grammy Award nominations and many other accolades, including seven Blues Music Awards (with a victory as Blues Band Of The Year in 2005). In 2011 the band was again awarded several times. They were honored with the Boston Music Award as Blues Band of the Year. Also, they were also chosen as Most Outstanding New England Band 2011 by the Blues Audience Magazine.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer's DVD "Live At High Voltage Festival 2010" - also published by in-akustik - has reached rank 6 of the Top 10 Concert DVDs of 2011. This DVD is the last legacy of this extraordinary band, as Carl Palmer published last summer, that Emerson, Lake & Palmer will never perform again.

JJ Grey & Mofro, whose new DVD/CD Brighter Days was called "compelling swamp-funk" by The New York Times, received a nomination for a coveted Maple Blues Award in the B.B. King International Artist Of The Year category. The Maple Blues Awards are Canada's only national blues awards. The goal of the awards is to promote blues music across Canada, and to recognize outstanding achievement in the field. Winners of the 15th Annual Maple Blues Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Toronto on January 16, 2012. JJ Grey & Mofro are currently completing a tour of the southern U.S. in support of Brighter Days. The band will tour the UK in March 2012.

Living Blues Magazine has announced the winners of the 2011 Living Blues Awards. This year, four Alligator Records artists received a total of seven awards. James Cotton won three awards, Marcia Ball won two, and Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials and Charlie Musselwhite each won one. Alligator artists and awards are as follows: James Cotton for Blues Artist Of The Year (Male), Most Outstanding Musician (Harmonica) and Best Blues Album (Giant). Marcia Ball for Blues Artist Of The Year (Female) and Most Outstanding Musician (Keyboard). Charlie Musselwhite for Most Outstanding Musician (Harmonica) and Lil Ed And The Blues Imperials for Best Live Performer.

On Thursday, May 5, 2011, the Blues Foundation awarded blues master and Alligator Records recording artist Charlie Musselwhite with two coveted Blues Music Awards. Musselwhite, whose latest CD The Well has been hailed as the best of his long career, received the awards for “Traditional Blues Male Artist Of The Year” and “Best Instrumentalist-Harmonica”.
