Installation guide

Comment: This is a brief, general description of the procedures. Fitters and contractors must take the individual materials and circumstances on site into consideration!

Before installation, please ensure you study the full installation guide for the AmbienTone loudspeakers

Step 1: Perform function check before fitting into drywall constructions.

Carefully inspect the loudspeaker system for exterior defects and damage.

Check whether there are any loose parts in the loudspeaker system. To do so, pick up the loudspeaker system in both hands and shake it in all directions so that any loose parts within the loudspeaker will make a noise as they hit the sides. Any noise would indicate a defect, as loudspeakers free of defects do not contain any loose components which might make noise.

Check the electrical functions of the loudspeaker system. To do this, connect the loudspeakers to an audio amplifier and play a 'continuous sweep' audio test signal over them. Pay attention to the reproduction of the known test signal. In particular, make sure there are no unwanted side noises and distortions.


	Step 2:

	Reduce the thickness of the chipboard or MDF panel within the defined area of 436 mm x 571 mm (edge radius 9 mm) to an absolute thickness of 4 mm by milling. Thickness includes verneer, laminates, coatings and other.

	The milled surface has to be even and varnished.


	Step 3:

	Remove the 2 transport locks on the rear of the loudspeaker system.
	After the speaker has been successfully tested and has been found to be fully functional remove the silicone paper at the front of the speaker.


	Step 4:

	The adhesive and varnished surfaces have to be clean and dry.

	Attach the self-adhesive front of the module to the prepared area on the back of the board material.


	Step 5:

	Connect the speaker cables!!

	Finished!

	Make sure, that the provided substructure does not rattle because of the vibrations caused by the flat-pane loudspeaker. Pay close attention to the fact that no loose parts lay within or upon the substructure or are in any contact with it. Pay also attention to the fact, that the loudspeaker is not tangented by anything on its rear.

	Pay attention to the polarity (+/-) when connecting the cable.
